DofE Support

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award is a prestigious youth achievement programme. It aims to encourage personal development and growth in young people aged 14 to 24, and is recognized as the world’s leading youth achievement award, operating in over 140 countries.

We understand that running a Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Unit (DofE) can get a little confusing at times, therefore we have created a system in which we can help centres by provided clear explanations on each of the sectional requirements and what evidence you need to upload to the eDofE portal.

The DofE Leaders’ Handbook gives you the information needed to be a DofE Leader and run programmes with your group, but handbooks only go so far. With over 30 years of experience operating with DofE, we can help you through the process of creating a unit, running it safely and ensuring that all staff are up-to-date with their qualifications.

We can assist in areas such as:
  • Recruiting and interviewing volunteer staff and outdoor instructors.
  • Auditing residential centres for suitability.
  • Creating risk assessments and safety systems for the expedition section.
  • Advise on running overseas DofE expeditions.
  • Help create expedition notification forms.
  • Ensure suitable staffing ratios on expeditions.
  • Pre-expedition safety training and advice for staff and participants.
