First Aid Needs Assessment

• Workplace Hazards: Identify specific hazards present in the workplace that may require special first aid arrangements.
• Workforce Size and Composition: Consider the number of employees and their specific needs, including any remote or lone workers.
• Accident History: Review past incidents and accidents to understand the types of injuries that may occur and the necessary responses.
• Location: Evaluate the remoteness of the workplace from emergency medical services, which may affect the level of first aid provision required.
• Absences: Account for holidays and other absences of first aiders to ensure adequate coverage at all times.

• Gather Information: Collect data on workplace hazards, employee roles, and past incidents.
• Evaluate Needs: Analyse the information to determine the number of first aiders required and the type of training they need.
• Document Findings: While not mandatory, documenting your findings can help in planning and compliance with regulations.
